The Waterloo Fire Department is always accepting applications for
volunteer firefighters and paid-on-call emergency medical technicians.
If you are looking for an exciting
adrenaline pumping way to give back to your community then we
have the perfect opportunity for you.
When you become a member you'll be issued your own equipment.
All training you attend is paid for by the department as well as
mileage reimbursement.
To
be a firefighter you must live within five miles of the City of
Waterloo and within the Waterloo
Fire Department's response area.
We have no residency requirements
for emergency medical technicians, however to be on call you must
be in the City of Waterloo.
With a full kitchen, sleeping
quarters, showers, exercise facilities, and ready room equipped
with cable, a big-screen TV, and a internet ready computer (were
also wifi), we have a great place for
you to stay while you're on call.

If you're unsure about wanting to join the Fire Department, please
feel free to stop in at the fire station and meet with one of our
members or come for a training on the 2nd and 3rd Monday's of
every month.
