Currently we are not accepting applications for full time personnel, however The Waterloo Fire Department is always accepting applications for volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians.  When you become a member you'll be issued your own equipment.  All training you attend is paid for by the department.

 

To be a firefighter you must live within five miles of the Waterloo Fire Department's response area. We have no residency requirements for emergency medical technicians, however to be on call you must be in the City of Waterloo. With a full kitchen and ready room equipped with cable and a big-screen TV, we have a great place for you to stay while you're on call.  

If you would like to join, please contact the fire department or stop in at the city office on N. Monroe Street for an application.  If you're unsure about wanting to join the fire department, please feel free to stop in at the fire station and meet with one of our members.
